Bridging the gap between medical expertise and the lived reality of postpartum recovery. As a pediatrician, neonatologist, and lactation specialist, I spent years treating newborns and supporting families. I thought I understood postpartum care. Then, I became a mother to four sons. My own journey through motherhood—encompassing postpartum depression, perinatal anxiety, surgical complications, and breastfeeding crises—was a profound wake-up call. Despite my extensive medical background and professional privilege, the American healthcare system failed me. If the system failed me, how can we expect it to protect the average mother?
My Mission: Redefining Postpartum Care
For the past six years, I have been on a mission to modernize our approach to maternal health. In the U.S., two-thirds of maternal deaths occur after birth, yet our current model leaves mothers waiting weeks for a follow-up while newborns receive immediate, prioritized care. This is a systemic oversight with life-altering consequences.
I am driven by two core beliefs:
-
Maternal health is a national imperative. We cannot ignore the alarming maternal mortality rates and the pervasive crisis of postpartum depression.
-
Solutions are accessible. From Naya AI Virtual Provider to Virtual Consultation to Denver Metro home-based follow-up care is a proven, cost-effective intervention that dramatically improves health outcomes for both mother and child.
Work With Me
I combine rigorous medical evidence with the hard-won insights of a mother who has navigated the trenches. Together, we can build a postpartum standard that values the mother as much as the baby. Because when we invest in the health of our mothers, we build a stronger foundation for our entire nation.
